Volunteers are the heart and soul of this grassroots effort to surround children with books during their early years of development. The Children’s Book Bank strives to be a place where people of all ages and backgrounds can come together to make a difference in the life of a child. It takes a total of about one hour of volunteer time to produce a completed bundle of books. Last school year, volunteers logged about 3,200 hours and delivered 3,218 bags filled with books to kids in need.
We welcome many types of volunteers – those who have two hours to give, those who can help for a few hours a week, those who want a project of their own, those to serve on committees, and those with professional skills to contribute. Every helping hand allows us to serve more children.
